That's Kitty (at top-left) of course, but I met
the other two cats on my Saturday morning
walk through San Francisco's Chinatown... I've run across the handsome cat (at top-right) before --
it lives inside a restaurant and loves to catch the morning sun in the window... The black-and-white cat (bottom)
was just hanging out on the sidewalk -- I doubt if it has a home (or a big goofy guy like me to love), but it looked
well fed...

(lyrics by Linde)
Lord almighty,
I feel my temperature rising
Higher higher
Its burning through to my soul
Girl, girl, girl
You gonna set me on fire
My brain is flaming
I dont know which way to go
Your kisses lift me higher
Like the sweet song of a choir
You light my morning sky
With burning love
Ooh, ooh, ooh,
I feel my temperature rising
Help me, Im flaming
I must be a hundred and nine
Burning, burning, burning
And nothing can cool me
I just might turn into smoke
But I feel fine
Cause your kisses lift me higher
Like a sweet song of a choir
And you light my morning sky
With burning love
Its coming closer
The flames are reaching my body
Please wont you help me
I feel like Im slipping away
Its hard to breath
And my chest is a-heaving
Lord almighty,
Im burning a hole where I lay
Cause your kisses lift me higher
Like the sweet song of a choir
You light my morning sky
With burning love
With burning love
Ah, ah, burning love
Im just a hunk, a hunk of burning love
Just a hunk, a hunk of burning love
Just a hunk, a hunk of burning love
Just a hunk, a hunk of burning love
Just a hunk, a hunk of burning love
Just a hunk, a hunk of burning love...

So to take advantage of my ignorance, I'm going to tell Kitty it's a golden monument to the cats

Each Spring, on-or-around March 15, Mission San Juan Capistrano welcomes home their famous and faithful
flock of swallows,
who spend Fall and Winter in-and-around the delightful city of Goya, Argentina...
And every year about this time every fourth-grader in the State of California is bound by some kind of
state education mandate to study the colorful and historic Missions of California -- doing reports and constructing
a model of the mission of their choosing -- we have a total of 21 missions here in California...
And of course, as you know, Kitty is in the fourth grade this year, and her styrofoam and carbroard
mission model is nearing completion -- a thing of beauty and creativity...
I'm afraid however, she has bogged down on her mission report to the point of hopelessness...
I've been helping her as much as her teacher will allow, but I'm probably
just confusing the issue by bringing home oddities such as blue geese on the ends of fruit boxes -- supposedly from
Capistrano... As any fourth grader worth his or her salt can tell you, a
blue goose is a bunch of advertising non-sense...

gave them a job -- full time employment, so to speak -- of beautifying and giving the area some character...
Not that the Marin County Civic Center doesn't have enough character and beauty on it's own, but these birds
definitely add something...

Kitty likes to get me up early so she can get a little bit of food and head back to bed...
She uses a variety of tecniques for rousing-me-from-the-dead... And the method I most enjoy

This morning she gave me a whispy fop on the head with her tail, and I'm pretty sure it was no

Of course, Kitty never gets to go anywhere, but the next time I go to the isolated little coastal town of
Bolinas I think I'll take her along so she can help out on the
price of gas...

I guess I should check my reading-glasses -- and I'm hoping that's the problem... If it's not, I may have
to send Kitty in for some minor
adjustments...

Kitty is around all the time -- so much in fact, that I'm afraid she has now become permanently
round...

It was so long ago that I took these two photos that I can't exactly remember if Kitty was just yawning, or
going ape...

Kitty can radiate and she can just as easily absorb... It's kind of a
give and take situation...

I'm the big guy on the right, and of course that's Kitty on the left -- she's my

And while there is nothing worse than Monday mornings, it's just a normal day for Kitty...
There will be humans to claw; corn, kibble, and canned cat food to munch; and enough naps to last a month of
Sundays... Yes, Kitty really knows where it's
at...

This morning Kitty's eyes are big as
eggs, so I guess it must be Easter...

Kitty is still as saucy as a Spring-chicken, but she is getting up there in age and
slowing down a bit... For years she would bring me presents of unfortunate mice and
birds that she would catch, bring inside, and proceed to rip apart on the
bathroom floor... These days Kitty gets all her food catered and served -- not quite
the same for this bobcat...

We have a dandy crop of weeds around here at Kittyland this year...
And as the plot thickens, Kitty is spending a lot of time at the
movies...

Over the years Kitty has gradually become less of a cat, and more of a regular
little person...
I probably should warn her that being one of our species isn't all it's cracked up
to be...

Although we usually avoid membership in any organization,
Kitty and I are both card-carrying hermits... And while regular society grinds and clashes, Kitty and I
like to sharpen our skills at being all alone...

I've always been a card-carrying batchelor and a dedicated hermit, so
before Kitty entered my life (sounds religious doesn't it) this place I live was just a place -- not something
that I could really call a home... But then Kitty came along and changed everything...
She is my
beacon... I no longer have any trouble finding my way home...

I'm all in favor of Kitty getting a job, but I should warn her that being a
fisherman
isn't always a 9 to 5 job with two 15 minute breaks and a two martini lunch hour...

Kitty is my able and loyal assitant here in the IT department of Kittyland, but when the
work (?) is all done, and if the sun is warm, it's time for a little
snooze...

I am going to guess that Kitty would rather stay home and dream about it, but if she were
a dog I'm sure we would be spending this weekend having a good romp on our beloved
Mount Tamalpais...

Her favorite tune? -- Oh, Get Me Some Food...

This morning I didn't have any new photos of Kitty, so I went looking through the files for something interesting...
I found this old shot of her wearing her colorful
eyeglasses...
But then I couldn't think of anything half-witty or cute to write about her...
And now it's four hours later and I still can't think of anything to write, so folks, I'm afraid I'm going
to have to just leave it at this...

If Kitty were made of metal she could get
rusty,
and if she were made of wood she could get dry-rot -- or God forbid -- even termites...
But fortunately Kitty is made of that indestructable material called love...

Kitty got her vacation photos back from the drug-store, and most of them aren't half bad...
But LORD, spare me from a grueling slide-show --
I might have to arrange it so there's just nobody home...

I think she has decided to just stay home and mull it over...
