Kitty is usually a good listener, but when I try to explain the wild and wooley ways of the world, her eyes quickly  glaze over...

It is fun to see the reaction when I tell people how much Kitty enjoys her consistent diet of corn on the cob...   Usually they give me a look of disbelief, but I kid you not, because Kitty really loves corn...

The GOOD part of playing cops-and-robbers is that your finger never runs out of ammunition.   But the BEST part of cops-and-robbers is dying.   Dying is an opportunity for creativity.   The official cops-and-robbers rulebook specifies that after "bang-bang, you're dead" the dying cop or robber must put on the most  dramatic death performance  possible.

A vital piece of Kitty's original equipment is her  wind-up key,  but we have lost it so many times that I think Kitty may be deliberately hiding it...

The official team ball at Kittyland is a simple wadded-up piece of paper.   Sometimes she bats it back to me, and other times she will amaze me with a perfect two-paw catch, but most times I just throw it and she runs and attacks.   She can play independently too, and the other day I saw her balancing the moon on her nose.

Kitty makes it look easy, but being a cat is probably not the easiest thing in life to be...   Occasionally I give her a  "pat on the head"  for doing such a fine job...

When Kitty gives me this particular look,  I know I am in trouble...   But fortunately, Kitty is quick to forgive.   She accepts my limitations...

With Kitty there are no boundaries, no restraints...
She can go anyplace...   All she needs is a  quiet space...

(lyrics by Linde)
Lord almighty, I feel my temperature rising Higher higher Its burning through to my soul Girl, girl, girl You gonna set me on fire My brain is flaming I dont know which way to go Your kisses lift me higher Like the sweet song of a choir You light my morning sky With burning love Ooh, ooh, ooh, I feel my temperature rising Help me, Im flaming I must be a hundred and nine Burning, burning, burning And nothing can cool me I just might turn into smoke But I feel fine Cause your kisses lift me higher Like a sweet song of a choir And you light my morning sky With burning love Its coming closer The flames are reaching my body Please wont you help me I feel like Im slipping away Its hard to breath And my chest is a-heaving Lord almighty, Im burning a hole where I lay Cause your kisses lift me higher Like the sweet song of a choir You light my morning sky With burning love With burning love Ah, ah, burning love Im just a hunk, a hunk of burning love Just a hunk, a hunk of burning love Just a hunk, a hunk of burning love Just a hunk, a hunk of burning love Just a hunk, a hunk of burning love Just a hunk, a hunk of burning  love...

Kitty is a cool cat...
She has been taking up some of the slack recently for  Jimmy Hendrix...

Kitty, the blog animal         June 14, 2008

Kitty has been  lurking  with me in the beauty of the Lagunitas Creek...

Kitty, the blog animal         June 13, 2008

For Kitty and me, the romance part of our relationship has never cooled off...   I think of her about ten-thousand times a day, and I'm pretty sure she does the same...   Kitty goes with me,  e v e r y p l a c e . . .

Kitty, the blog animal         June 12, 2008

Yes, I suppose  eyecolor  is tremendously important...   But if Kitty is intending to get off the ground she might be forgetting a primary problem -- feathers fly much better than hair...

Kitty, the blog animal         June 11, 2008

Just hanging around at the beach will most likely earn a non-surfing  dog,  cat, or human the title of a hodad...   But surf's up, and the waves are gnarly...   Off the Richter and off the wall, here comes a pounder...

Kitty, the blog animal         June 10, 2008

I might be sticking my neck out on this one, but I'm going to guess that the multitude of petals on a  rose  make it the perfect symbol of love...

Kitty, the blog animal         June 9, 2008

Kitty appreciates my humble gifts of kibble, corn, and cat food -- but I thought I would spice-up her table this morning with a bit of  color...

Kitty, the blog animal         June 8, 2008

I'm hoping that Kitty will be cool with the idea of a new food in her diet...   Sorry Kitty, I thought I was buying  shredded-wheat...

Kitty, the blog animal         June 7, 2008

And while Kitty may still not have the whole puzzle put together, she does have a general  concept  of the plan...

Kitty, the blog animal         June 6, 2008

Leash???
Kitty got no leashes...
Kitty don't need no stinking leashes!!!

Kitty, the blog animal         June 5, 2008

The Frank Lloyd Wright designed Marin Civic Center has a beautiful and dramatic  golden  spire, however I'm not quite sure of it's significance or what it it supposed to represent.   So to take advantage of my ignorance, I'm going to tell Kitty it's a golden monument to the cats of our County...   And we have a lot of them...
Almost everybody living here is either a cat or a kitty...

Kitty, the blog animal         June 4, 2008

Should I ever do anything to skew Kitty's love, and should she ever decide to leave me, I suppose she might go join the  penguins  at the zoo...
My hope is that she won't like the water aspects of life as a penguin...   Warm and dry couches and laps are more Kitty's style...

Kitty, the blog animal         June 3, 2008

I should have dropped off a copy of Kitty's resume at San Francisco's Legion of Honor...   Kitty can do  motionless-and-still...   And When she gets her head in the right place she can even do stone...

Kitty, the blog animal         June 2, 2008

Kitty, being an animal, listens intently to my reminiscences about the glorious days of  flower-power  and letting it all hang-loose...

Kitty, the blog animal         June 1, 2008

I'm sure Kitty would love to be able to  fly,  but she would probably need to flap those little ears awfly fast to get off the ground...

Kitty, the blog animal         May 31, 2008

Kitty's beauty (and ears) radiate like fronds of a  fern... ... ... ...

Kitty, the blog animal         May 30, 2008

Deer  are beautiful and peaceful creatures, much like Kitty...   But deer don't have access to refrigerators stocked with corn and tins of cat food, nor sizeable sacks of kibble...   No, Kitty, you'd better stick close to home and make sure your owner (you know, that old goofy guy) gets plenty of love...

Kitty, the blog animal         May 29, 2008

It's daybreak -- warmth and  illumination  is on it's way and Kitty is here to make sure it all happens on schedule...   After all, there is kibble to munch, zzzz's to be performed, and humans to be loved and reassured...

Kitty, the blog animal         May 28, 2008

Yes folks, this is the entrance to  Roy's Redwoods...   It's part of our open-space lands here in Marin County, and when I'm not feeling too lazy I like to hike to the top of the hill -- it's a great aerobic workout...   I've always thought that Kitty would apreciate the area too, but I doubt if she would do well on the end of a leash, so I'll just have to continue telling her stories about the adventure when I get back home...

Kitty, the blog animal         May 27, 2008

And while we've pretty much got human beings  mapped out,  cats remain in uncharted territory...   A mystery for sure...

Kitty, the blog animal         May 26, 2008

Well, the  100% fun  store in San Francisco's Chinatown was locked-up tight when I passed by on Sunday, but I'm assuming there must be a bunch of cats inside...

Kitty, the blog animal         May 25, 2008

In Kitty's world there is no middle ground...
Things are either  one hundred percent,  or they are zero...

Kitty, the blog animal         May 24, 2008

And while each new  sunrise  brings a new day, some things remain constant...   For Kitty -- there will be food to be begged for, laps to be sat on, poops to be pooped, perimiters to be defended, stretches and yawns to be performed, and last but not least -- comfort to be offered...
Yes, it's the same old Kitty, day after day...

Kitty, the blog animal         May 23, 2008

Well Kitty, it looks like you're just a few hairs away from  40 degrees...

Kitty, the blog animal         May 22, 2008

It's like living with an inquisitive five-year-old child...   And I try to answer all of Kitty's  questions,  but she just keeps coming back with more...

Kitty, the blog animal         May 21, 2008

Reflecting  back on our relationship -- I'd say Kitty and I have formed a strong partnership over the years...   Just who loves the other more is open to debate...

Kitty, the blog animal         May 20, 2008

No, Kitty had to stay home...   My guess is that sixty-five thousand  Bay to Breakers  participants would be too much excitement for Super-Kitty...

Kitty, the blog animal         May 19, 2008

About the last thing Kitty needs is a  therapist...
And she doesn't have much use for the English language either...

Kitty, the blog animal         May 18, 2008

We have no shortage of  deer  here at Kittyland, but at nearby Roy's Redwoods they have more room to roam...   Maybe I should put a leash on Kitty and take her for a nature walk out there...   Better yet -- maybe I should throw a saddle on Kitty and ride her briskly to the top of the hill...

Kitty, the blog animal         May 17, 2008

Kitty is a terrible speller...   For all she knows, this could spell  c a t...

Kitty, the blog animal         May 16, 2008

Kitty's tuxedo suit make bright  poppy fields  even more outstanding...

Kitty, the blog animal         May 15, 2008

Kitty lives day-to-day in the here-and-now, so she probably doesn't have much use for a  psychic reading...

Kitty, the blog animal         May 14, 2008

Kitty and I are betting that the life of  Big Al  would have taken a different direction if, insted of a tommy-gun, he had had a cat to carry around...

Kitty, the blog animal         May 13, 2008

Kitty knows  beauty...

Kitty, the blog animal         May 12, 2008

Kitty's never been a mama cat, but she mothers me the best she can...   She is important, like a  morning glory...

Kitty, the blog animal         May 11, 2008

I know I keep telling everybody how smart Kitty is, but sometimes she does have certain limitations...   She seems to have a firm grasp of one and two, but  three  might be slightly out of her realm...

Kitty, the blog animal         May 10, 2008

It's always written in some  strange and beautiful  language, but it looks like Kitty has been writing poetry again...

Kitty, the blog animal         May 9, 2008

Kitty actually can speak a few words, but to get her point across she generally uses her eyes...   They can  radiate  as well as receive...

Kitty, the blog animal         May 8, 2008

That's right, Kitty...
There IS awesome and  over-powering beauty  in this world...

Kitty, the blog animal         May 7, 2008

It's the same  rusty  old story...   While ladies and men might gravitate to the right, cats and kitties will probably slink to the left...

Kitty, the blog animal         May 6, 2008

Ever since she arrived, Kitty has been trying to sell me on the concept that the  sun  revolves around her, and not vice-versa...

Kitty, the blog animal         May 5, 2008

When Kitty was quite young she had whatever they snip snipped, so there is still only one Kitty...   One is a handful -- four would be a mob...

Kitty, the blog animal         May 4, 2008

Up until now Kitty has just been ignoring her  alter ego...
But the cat-is-out-of-the-bag, so to speak, and I think the best thing to do is just to let them sort things out...

Kitty, the blog animal         May 3, 2008

And while it looks like  Joe's cat   could still be working on the concept, Don's cat doesn't spend much time proclaiming the obvious...

Kitty, the blog animal         May 2, 2008

Being so black-and-white most of the time, Kitty likes to experiment with various accents of color...   This morning she showed up at breakfast with shades of blue...   Tomorrow it may be something else...

Kitty, the blog animal         May 1, 2008

Answering the call to all of Kitty's whims is usually a pretty easy job...   When she requires a soft lap all I have to do is sit down, and when she needs reassurance all it takes is a few strokes and a few soft words...   And although she knows better than to ask for sun on a cloudy day, she has no hesitation asking that her sun be  slightly filtered...

Kitty, the blog animal         April 30, 2008

Around here at Kittyland, we sort of let the garden come to us -- a volunteer garden, of sorts...   And of course, the only type of oats we grow are  volunteer oats...   Easy to maintain and even easier to admire...

Kitty, the blog animal         April 29, 2008

I think Kitty just might go for bugs on lilly pads...   But I think she is going to want some kibble and maybe a nice piece of freshly thawed corn-on-the-cob for a little variety...   But when it's all said and done -- bugs or kibble-and-bits -- it's all pretty much the same thing --  lunch...

Kitty, the blog animal         April 28, 2008

It's pretty easy to sneak Kitty into the movies, but there is no way I would have been able to sneak her in at the U.C. Berkeley Botanical Gardens...   I don't think she would have gotten along too well with the prickly cactus, but I did find her a soft bed of  orange and purple-violet flowers  where I'm sure she could have enjoyed a colorful day...

Kitty, the blog animal         April 27, 2008

Kitty lets me go to the  beach,  but only if I am wearing my leash...

Kitty, the blog animal         April 26, 2008

Kitty is familiar with words like "kibble" and "corn" and "outside" and "what a good Kitty" -- but I don't think she has a word for  poppies  or even a word for the color that they are...   Nevertheless, I'm pretty sure that Kitty understands that yes, those ARE poppies, and they ARE very colorful...

Kitty, the blog animal         April 25, 2008

Kittyland actually did get a little rain the other day, but this isn't it...   This is the great  fountain  in Plaza Vina Del Mar, at Sausalito, just catty-corner from San Francisco...   The fountain is a popular place to get your portrait snapped, and of course, Kitty never likes to be left out of the fun...

Kitty, the blog animal         April 24, 2008

Kitty has a new job scanning  San Francisco Bay  for any signs of trouble... She's on the lookout for oil spills, miscreant captains, and the occasional capsized sailboat...   Kitty's boss told her to keep her eyes open for terrorists -- they hired her for her claws...

Kitty, the blog animal         April 23, 2008

When I look at Kitty and then look at a  horse,  there seems to be a vague resemblance between the two species...   Kitty's ears are quite similar, but her head is more of a pumpkin shape...   The horse has a big schnozz, and Kitty has a little schnooze...   The horse's eyes are beautiful black and beautiful black, and Kitty's eyes are beautiful tan and beautiful earth...

Kitty, the blog animal         April 22, 2008

And even though I don't think they will be firing-off fireworks or having an ice-cream eating contest, today is  Earth Day,  and Kitty and I wish you a happy one...   I keep saying that I wish I could take Kitty with me on all my little outings, but the danger of losing her is too great...   But I'm sure she would have enjoyed getting her paws wet in the damp sand of a fine beach I found on Sunday...   Don't know what she would have made of the dog I ran across while on that beach, however...   The critter was running free having an exceptionally good time investigating all the smells and generally having a good time all by itself -- no owner in sight...   Only birds, clams, and a crusty photographer...   Ah, bliss...
Thank you Mother Earth...

Kitty, the blog animal         April 21, 2008

Around here at Kittyland, Kitty is the one with the  bubbly  personality...   (that's probably why I put three dots ... after every sentence)   But call it foam, froth, or suds -- Kitty keeps me in a pretty good lather 24/7...

Kitty, the blog animal         April 20, 2008

Waking up  with an "old-fart" like Don in his smelly underwear may not be as glamorous as a dainty lady in all her frills -- but at this stage of her life I'm all Kitty has, and she doesn't really seem to mind...   In fact, I believe she is madly in love with me -- and yes Kitty, the feeling is mutual...

Kitty, the blog animal         April 19, 2008

Even though numerous and bold signs proclaim our yard as Kittyland, the local  deer  fall-by on a regular basis...   Yesterday I noticed this beautiful creature grazing close to the house, so even though I was shooting through a dirty window that should have been washed four or five years ago, I think it came out pretty well...

Kitty, the blog animal         April 18, 2008

And even though it was much to early yesterday over at San Francisco's Conservatory of Flowers  for them to be open for visitors, I spooked around the exterior for a while and soaked up the atmosphere so I would have something to tell Kitty about when I got home...   Seems like they're always looking for knowledgeable docents over there -- and I really didn't have Kitty's permission to do this -- but I slipped her resume under the door and I'm hoping that the higher-ups will realize Kitty's potential...
The way I see it, every garden needs a cat...

Kitty, the blog animal         April 17, 2008

Of course, Kitty never really gets to go anywhere with me -- someone has to stay home and hold-down the couch -- but if she HAD been with me yesterday afternoon she would have met this interesting pair of  artists  on a serene trail at delightful place nearby named China Camp...   Oh, we had a great time discussing everything from George Bush to art supply stores, and about the only thing we didn't talk about was our cats...

By the way, if you'd like to see some amazingly beautiful paintings of Marin County, check out Ray Bailey's art at:   www.raybaileysart.com...

Kitty, the blog animal         April 16, 2008

Morning,  noon, afternoon, and night...   It's Kitty, Kitty, Kitty, and Kitty...

Kitty, the blog animal         Tax-man cometh, 2008

When I hit the magic number of 50, I realized that I no longer could decypher the phone book and needed reading glasses...   And here it is, ten years later, and reading glasses have become a normal part of life...   But even without glasses I can  clearly see  the love Kitty and I share...   Hope that's visible to you too...

Kitty, the blog animal         April 14, 2008

Hey, reporter lady, that's  old news...   Everybody already knows that Don loves Kitty, and Kitty loves Don...

Kitty, the blog animal         April 13, 2008

Even though Kitty had to stay home and dream about wildflowers all by herself -- when I got home from Chimney Rock at Point Reyes yesterday the first thing I did was tell her about the fantastic display the  Douglas Iris  is putting on right now...

But her eyes started to glaze over when I began reading her a long, long list of other wildflowers in bloom out there right now -- yarrow, sun-cups, three varieties of indian paintbrush, field chickweed, coastal-prairie larkspur, coastal wallflower, chocolate lily, cow parsnips, goldfields, lovage, yellow bush lupine, coastal-prairie lupine, man-root, cream cups, california buttercup, checkerbloom, blue-eyed grass, hedge nettle, cow clover, owl's clover, and narrow-leaf mule's ears...

Kitty, the blog animal         April 12, 2008

Kitty, being my main squeeze, probably doesn't appreciate me looking at the other  attractive beauties  in the neighborhood...

Kitty, the blog animal         April 11, 2008

Kitty refused to be Photoshopped into this photo, but speaking for her -- unless she is wearing it, Kitty despises the  fur trade...

Read what the Coalition to Abolish the Fur Trade has to say about animal abuse over at:
http://www.caft.org.uk/factsheets/cats-and-dogs.html

Kitty, the blog animal         April 10, 2008

When it comes to making a safe and pleasant environment for Kitty, we have no shortage of  rules...

Kitty, the blog animal         April 9, 2008

I'm pretty sure that a ride on a San Francisco  cable car  would be much too frightening for Kitty, and I'm almost certain they don't allow her species onboard -- but I think she could probably find a seat if she ever decides to get real brave, dress like a tourist, and travel incognito...

Kitty, the blog animal         April 8, 2008

Nobody is happier than me that Kitty hasn't murdered a  bird  in years...
But she has a violent and lengthy criminal record...   She used to be fast enough to catch them, but she seems to be slowing down with age -- and believe me, Kitty, I know the feeling...

And it would have been fun to take her to the beach with me yesterday, but I thought that, as usual, she had an appointment in Dreamland...

Kitty, the blog animal         April 7, 2008

Each Spring, on-or-around March 15, Mission San Juan Capistrano welcomes home their famous and faithful flock of swallows, who spend Fall and Winter in-and-around the delightful city of Goya, Argentina...

And every year about this time every fourth-grader in the State of California is bound by some kind of state education mandate to study the colorful and historic Missions of California -- doing reports and constructing a model of the mission of their choosing -- we have a total of 21 missions here in California...

And of course, as you know, Kitty is in the fourth grade this year, and her styrofoam and carbroard mission model is nearing completion -- a thing of beauty and creativity...   I'm afraid however, she has bogged down on her mission report to the point of hopelessness...   I've been helping her as much as her teacher will allow, but I'm probably just confusing the issue by bringing home oddities such as blue geese on the ends of fruit boxes -- supposedly from Capistrano...   As any fourth grader worth his or her salt can tell you, a  blue goose  is a bunch of advertising non-sense...

Kitty, the blog animal         April 6, 2008

Being the consummate  nature lover  that she is, Kitty probably knows both the botanical and common name for this beautiful flower (I found it inside Marin County Civic Center), but so far I haven't been able to coax any information out of her...   Looks like it's in the Calla Lilly family, but it sure is an oddball -- just like our little family here at Kittyland...

Kitty, the blog animal         April 5, 2008

Yesterday I was spooking around the Marin County Civic Center and spotted these two  birds  in the patio area out by the fountain and pool, and beneath the towering golden spire that was designed by the master of architecture himself -- Frank Lloyd Wright...   And although I don't know who fabricated these ostriches, the artist gave them a job -- full time employment, so to speak -- of beautifying and giving the area some character...   Not that the Marin County Civic Center doesn't have enough character and beauty on it's own, but these birds definitely add something...

Kitty, the blog animal         April 4, 2008

I'm not exactly sure which is whispier,  whispy clouds  or whispy Kitty...

Kitty likes to get me up early so she can get a little bit of food and head back to bed...   She uses a variety of tecniques for rousing-me-from-the-dead...   And the method I most enjoy is a soft wet kiss on my nose -- while my least favorite method is a bite on the elbow...   This morning she gave me a whispy fop on the head with her tail, and I'm pretty sure it was no accident...   Oh cats, you never know what they're going to come up with next...

No, Kitty never gets to go anywhere with me, but when I got home yesterday I had to tell her all about it...   I found this  poppy  yesterday in Lucas Valley, about 25 miles north of San Francisco.   See you there...

Kitty, the blog animal         April 2, 2008

Oh, Kitty keeps busy all day just being -- but obviously she has absolutely no idea of what it means to be as  busy as a bee...

Kitty, the blog animal         April 1, 2008

Yesterday afternoon, after all was said and done, I got a brilliant idea...   Why not take a short cruise to the top of the hill, Mount Tamalpais, and soak up the sunset...   And although the sunset proved to be slightly lack-luster, I did find this  lupine wildflower  standing tall, enjoying the afternoon, as I certainly was, too...

side note:   When I get to heaven [ ? ? ? ] I'm pretty sure "the big guy" is going to admonish me for a lifetime of the "over-and-misuse-of-commas", "three-dots-after-every-sentence", "creative-spelling" and various other grammar violations committed during my lifetime...

...but getting back to the story:   You see, here's the problem -- all this time I've been thinking that Kitty was the most beautiful thing on this earth -- but now I've fallen in love with lupine wildflowers...   I'm not sure how I'm going to keep this new-found love a secret from Kitty...   I hope she will eventually understand...

Kitty's pretty smart, so I'm not exactly sure if she fell for the idea, but yesterday I soaped-up our front window and proclaimed it  modern art...

Kitty, the blog animal         March 30, 2008

Of course, Kitty never gets to go anywhere, but the next time I go to the isolated little coastal town of Bolinas I think I'll take her along so she can help out on the price of gas...

Kitty, the blog animal         March 29, 2008

I guess I should check my reading-glasses -- and I'm hoping that's the problem...   If it's not, I may have to send Kitty in for some minor adjustments...

Kitty, the blog animal         March 28, 2008

Kitty is around all the time -- so much in fact, that I'm afraid she has now become permanently  round...

Kitty, the blog animal         March 27, 2008

It was so long ago that I took these two photos that I can't exactly remember if Kitty was just yawning, or  going ape...

Kitty, the blog animal         March 26, 2008

Kitty can radiate and she can just as easily absorb...
It's kind of a  give and take  situation...

Kitty, the blog animal         March 25, 2008

I'm the big guy on the right, and of course that's Kitty on the left -- she's my  trainer and keeper...

Kitty, the blog animal         March 24, 2008

And while there is nothing worse than Monday mornings, it's just a normal day for Kitty...   There will be humans to claw; corn, kibble, and canned cat food to munch; and enough naps to last a month of Sundays...
Yes, Kitty really knows where it's  at...

Kitty, the blog animal         Happy Easter, 2008

This morning Kitty's eyes are big as  eggs,  so I guess it must be Easter...

Kitty, the blog animal         March 22, 2008

Kitty is still as saucy as a Spring-chicken, but she is getting up there in age and slowing down a bit...   For years she would bring me presents of unfortunate mice and birds that she would catch, bring inside, and proceed to rip apart on the bathroom floor...   These days Kitty gets all her food catered and served -- not quite the same for this  bobcat...

Kitty, the blog animal         March 21, 2008

We have a dandy crop of weeds around here at Kittyland this year... And as the plot thickens, Kitty is spending a lot of time at the  movies...

Kitty, the blog animal         March 20, 2008

Over the years Kitty has gradually become less of a cat, and more of a regular  little person...   I probably should warn her that being one of our species isn't all it's cracked up to be...

Kitty, the blog animal         March 19, 2008

Although we usually avoid membership in any organization, Kitty and I are both card-carrying hermits...   And while regular society grinds and clashes, Kitty and I like to sharpen our skills at being  all alone...

Kitty, the blog animal         March 18, 2008

I've always been a card-carrying batchelor and a dedicated hermit, so before Kitty entered my life (sounds religious doesn't it) this place I live was just a place -- not something that I could really call a home...   But then Kitty came along and changed everything...   She is my  beacon...
I no longer have any trouble finding my way home...

Kitty, the blog animal         March 17, 2008

I'm all in favor of Kitty getting a job, but I should warn her that being a fisherman  isn't always a 9 to 5 job with two 15 minute breaks and a two martini lunch hour...

Kitty, the blog animal         March 16, 2008

Kitty is my able and loyal assitant here in the IT department of Kittyland, but when the work (?) is all done, and if the sun is warm, it's time for a little  snooze...

Kitty, the blog animal         March 15, 2008

I am going to guess that Kitty would rather stay home and dream about it, but if she were a dog I'm sure we would be spending this weekend having a good romp on our beloved  Mount Tamalpais...

Kitty, the blog animal         March 14, 2008

Yes folks, that's Kitty, and on the left is her  fiddle...
Her favorite tune? -- Oh, Get Me Some Food...

Kitty, the blog animal         March 13, 2008

This morning I didn't have any new photos of Kitty, so I went looking through the files for something interesting...   I found this old shot of her wearing her colorful  eyeglasses...   But then I couldn't think of anything half-witty or cute to write about her...   And now it's four hours later and I still can't think of anything to write, so folks, I'm afraid I'm going to have to just leave it at this...

Kitty, the blog animal         March 12, 2008

Yes Kitty, that  fast water  does kind of look like cat fur, now doesn't it...

Kitty, the blog animal         March 11, 2008

In Kitty's world, a  sunrise,  is just as good as a sunset...   Both make a great excuse to go take a colorful nap...

Kitty, the blog animal         March 10, 2008

If Kitty were made of metal she could get  rusty,  and if she were made of wood she could get dry-rot -- or God forbid -- even termites...   But fortunately Kitty is made of that indestructable material called love...

Kitty, the blog animal         March 9, 2008

There is the outside world, and then there is Kittyland -- where just a casual glance is confirmation that our  love transcends all...

Kitty, the blog animal         March 8, 2008

Kitty is familiar with the vast forests of tall weeds we have around here at Kittyland, but I'm pretty sure she has never seen a real  forest  with weeds quite this tall...

Kitty, the blog animal         March 7, 2008

When I got home from my nature hike yesterday I showed Kitty how creatures that live in-the-wild have to round-up their own  lunch...

Kitty, the blog animal         March 6, 2008

Some day I'm going to have to take Kitty along with me on one of my nature  walks...   I could show her ferns with multitudes of "ears"...

Kitty, the blog animal         March 5, 2008

Kitty got her vacation photos back from the drug-store, and most of them aren't half bad...   But LORD, spare me from a grueling slide-show -- I might have to arrange it so there's just  nobody home...

Kitty, the blog animal         March 4, 2008

Now, I'm pretty sure they don't make hot-dog  mustard  out of the yellow mustard that grows around here this time of year, but if the Food Channel ever needs an eyewitness report, Kitty is ready and standing by...

Kitty, the blog animal         March 3, 2008

Kitty is rather shy and sometimes likes to stay in the  in the shadows,  but there is no way darkness can obscure our love...

Kitty, the blog animal         March 2, 2008

The  rays of the sun  are as warm and illuminating as Kitty's love...

Kitty, the blog animal         March 1, 2008

Kitty has been thinking about it, and with all due respect to  Rodin's The Thinker,  I think she has decided to just stay home and mull it over...
