fuzzy about the turkey

Thanks for telling another cat-loving friend about this foolishness...

Kitty, the blog animal         November 24, 2004

Kitty is still a little bit  fuzzy  about our Thanksgiving turkey, because I'm sure she has never seen a bird that big, or in fact; that featherless...

Kitty, the blog animal         November 23, 2004

Blue is a color that Kitty can dish out and serve on a moments notice...

Kitty, the blog animal         November 22, 2004

It is the dreaded Monday Morning, and Kitty is off to her mysterious job at her equally mysterious place of employment...   Oh, she has an official sounding title;  Coordinator of Spherical Resources,  but that doesn't tell me much about what she actually does...

Kitty, the blog animal         November 21, 2004

Just to settle the arguement once and for all, I informed Kitty that I would search on the internet as to whether or not  balancing the moon on one's nose  is, or is not, a true and certified Olympic sport...

Kitty, the blog animal         November 20, 2004

Kitty and I have been at warp-speed all week with a  blur of activity,  and we really haven't been spending enough time together, but it's Saturday, and it's time to shift the blur into maximum inactivity mode...

Kitty, the blog animal         November 19, 2004

Winter has barely started, and already Kitty and I are having to play silly and pointless games to stave-off an early onslaught of cabin fever...
Kitty can  touch her nose with her tongue.   I cant...

Kitty, the blog animal         November 18, 2004

Free spirits, such as Kitty's, just can't be put in and contained by  pigeon holes...

Kitty, the blog animal         November 17, 2004

I brought home a tennis ball that I found for Kitty, and since it is her first piece of real sporting equipment, I introduced it slowly, and everything was going just swimmingly until I demonstrated how the ball could bounce.:.:.:..   which scared the  holy bejeebers  out of her...

Kitty, the blog animal         November 16, 2004

Kitty is keenly interested in birds; not only as a possible dinner, but also as magnificent flying creatures.   I'm sure if Kitty was granted one wish it would be for a set of wings and a pilots license...    if Kitty could only fly

Kitty, the blog animal         November 15, 2004

When I dropped Kitty off at the courthouse for jury duty I tried to cheer her up by telling her that just because of her black-and-whiteness they would most likely immediately promote her from juror to judge.
here come da judge

Kitty, the blog animal         November 14, 2004

After years of washing and waxing Kitty, we have finally gone ahead and spiffed up her paint job with a  high-gloss mirror finish...

Kitty, the blog animal         November 13, 2004

Kitty may not know it, but instead of being a follower of fashion, she seems inclined to be a  trend-setter...

Kitty, the blog animal         November 12, 2004

Kitty is used to having her morning piece of corn-on-the-cob served outside, so even though it was raining cats-and-dogs yesterday morning, I had to open the door to illustrate, as if she didn't already know just how drippy and nasty her outdoor dining area was...   She finally decided that she would be able to have her  sweet corn  indoors...

Yesterday was so dark and dreary that I thought Kitty would enjoy an excursion, if only in spirit, to the  Palace of Fine Arts  in San Francisco.
If you didn't already know, the Palace of Fine Arts was constructed for the Panama-Pacific International Exposition in 1915.   It's quite a place...

Kitty, the blog animal         November 10, 2004

O.K. Kitty, go ahead and  slay me with your cuteness...
Actually, Kitty would have probably slaughtered me if she had seen me say hello and pet the jet-black cat that crossed my path yesterday...

Kitty, the blog animal         November 9, 2004

Believe me, Kitty can hold up her end of a conversation, but she usually prefers to quietly observe, rather than to expound...     multiple eyes

Kitty, the blog animal         November 8, 2004

Kitty appears to be the relational sum of her two parts,  yin and yang...

Kitty, the blog animal         November 7, 2004

Kitty and I have been so busy coming-and-going that we haven't seen much of each other recently, but today is a beautiful Sunday, and it looks like a fine day to  putter and purr...

Kitty, the blog animal         November 6, 2004

Kitty isn't too keen on danger and excitement, but loud sounds is what Kitty hates most.   Poor thing...   On Wednesday we had a thunderstorm of exceptional proportions roll across the ridge near us, and then on Thursday the man came to clean our drains with his mechanical monster.   And I was going to reassure Kitty that Friday was going to be a quiet day, but she had already  split for quieter places  before the crack of dawn.

Kitty, the blog animal         November 5, 2004

Eye asked Kitty to tell me, in ten words or less, just why she wanted food, and her message was clear;  "because  eye  am hungry"...

Kitty, the blog animal         November 4, 2004

Technically, she is called a domestic bi-color shorthair, but around here we just call her a  tuxedo cat...   But if we happen to look when her coat is in full sun, it is not black at all, but the nicest shade of reddish-brown...

Kitty, the blog animal         November 3, 2004

And a person has to wonder why this cat needs to be so cute...   It's not as if she needs to make herself attractive, as there are no other cats in the neighborhood she needs to impress...   And I'd love her even if she was as ugly as a shoebox...   But for some reason she needs to be  cute...

Kitty, the blog animal         November 2, 2004

During our travels, if only in spirit, Kitty insists on stopping at every  coin-operated telescope  on our route.

Kitty, the blog animal         November 1, 2004

A frightful number of beings and creatures were ghoulishly be-deviled by Kitty yesterday.   Kitty really puts a lot of effort into her pranks.
It's hard work, but then, finally, it's  time for a break...

Kitty, the blog animal         October 31, 2004

Halloween is a holiday that Kitty can understand...   Every day she must be on guard for goblins and all things spooky, so it must be therapeutic for her to assume a bone-chilling role as our resident  villain and spook.

Kitty, the blog animal         October 30, 2004

Halloween isn't until tomarrow, but Kitty has already set  the mood...

Since it was such a beautiful day, I gave Kitty permission to go anywhere she wanted, if only in spirit...   This is a photo of  Kitty at Baker Beach,  and the links are some other pictures of the Golden Gate Bridge.   Enjoy.

Kitty, the blog animal         October 28, 2004

And if we could look exceedingly close, we might actually be able to see a whole lot of empty space between her particles...   Fortunately, she is exceedingly well glued together...

Kitty, the blog animal         October 27, 2004

I've never been able to figure out what kind of work Kitty actually does at the Pestbouncer Building, but with all of her experience of bossing me around, I assume her job must have something to do with  management.

Kitty, the blog animal         October 26, 2004

They were just passing through, but Kitty eighty-sixed two cats off her territory yesterday...   She really doesn't need to be so catty, as my devotion and loyalty is to her is beyond question, but just to alleviate any suspicions, we made a big sign which reads:  no other cats 4 me !

Kitty, the blog animal         October 25, 2004

As I remember, dogs are perfectly happy if you throw them a greasy bone, but Kitty is more into  ambiance and presentation...

Kitty, the blog animal         October 24, 2004

Oh, I guess it is just a normal part of growing up, but Kitty has gone far beyond making funny faces and has somehow figured out how to give raspberries.   Being somewhat verbally challenged, she probably thinks she can use it instead of saying trick-or-treat, but I think she needs to re-think her strategy or she probably isn't going to get too many treats...

Kitty, the blog animal         October 23, 2004

George Carlin used to do a bit about a "cat" who never got up until the sun was warm.   And even though George Carlin wasn't referring to the  feline species,  our little Kitty could easily play that part without any stretch of the imagination...

Kitty, the blog animal         October 22, 2004

Yeah Kitty, you're pretty big, but those  redwoods  are even bigger than you...

Kitty, the blog animal         October 21, 2004

Kitty has been surrounding herself within all sorts of  reflective surfaces,  and the ideal place seems to be our local creek on a sunny day.   Eventually she might discover that fish live under that shiny surface...

Kitty, the blog animal         October 20, 2004

meek  [adjective]     1: humble in spirit or manner; suggesting retiring mildness or even cowed submissiveness; "meek and self-effacing"
[synonyms: mild, modest, gentle, docile, pacific]
Orville Prescott wrote; "she looked meek but had the heart of a lion"

Kitty, the blog animal         October 19, 2004

Reportedly, Kitty has been hanging-twenty with the local  surfer crowd...

Kitty, the blog animal         October 18, 2004

o.k., Kitty,  all is forgiven...

Kitty, the blog animal         October 17, 2004

Kitty is fairly predictable, and she seldom gets in much trouble while I'm away, but when I got home yesterday I found a nasty mess of feathers, two large legs with big feet, and a few other mysterious bird parts...
Rarely is Kitty able to catch such a large bird, so I assume that it must have been an evenly matched fight...   My kitchen was in shambles...
But fair fight, or foul, I do not approve...   So, today we're skipping the normal photo of Kitty and have assembled a little  gallery of birds...

Kitty, the blog animal         October 16, 2004

I used to work with a lady, who because of her allergies, had never grown fond of hairy creatures.   But that didn't stop me from boring her to death with cute stories about Kitty...   One day, while I was lamenting about not being able to take my cat to the beach, she piped up and suggested that I pack Kitty along to the  beach  in a birdcage...   Very funny, Deb...

Kitty, the blog animal         October 15, 2004

And on one of those introspective days, Kitty gets down to work,
exploring life  from within...  roundabout...  and through...

Kitty, the blog animal         October 14, 2004

It is a job someone must do, and Kitty really does it well...
Her job description boils down to being a warm and cuddly,  golden lump.

Kitty, the blog animal         October 13, 2004

One cat around here is definitely just about the limit, and I think Kitty has done just fine without having to go through the  joys of motherhood...
And afterall, she does have me to take care of...

Kitty, the blog animal         October 12, 2004

And there are times when whatever it is that Kitty is thinking, is elusive.   Behind that black and white  poker-face  is probably a world of color...

Kitty, the blog animal         October 11, 2004

Kitty is so much like a little person, that it's difficult not to treat her as one...   We treat her difficulty with human speech only as an impedement for us to work on, although, in all honesty, I don't think I'm ever going to succeed in teaching her how to read and write.     our star student

Kitty, the blog animal         October 10, 2004

On behalf of Kitty, I would like to thank everybody who saw the little blurb and told a friend about this foolishness...   Stats went way up yesterday!

And I don't know why my lap is so popular, but every time I sit at the computer Kitty absoloutely must climb-on-board for a snooze...   Occasionally I wake her up and try to get her to look at  pictures of herself.   I'm fairly certain that she does indeed recognize herself, even though she always seems less than terribly interested...

Kitty, the blog animal         October 9, 2004

It's  chow time,  and all is well,  at least in the immediate vicinity...

Kitty, the blog animal         October 8, 2004

It may be a bit late for Kitty to throw her hat into the presidential race, and she really doesn't know the first thing about international politics, but she does have all four vital qualifications for the job;
awareness, honesty, compassion, and concern...

Kitty, the blog animal         October 7, 2004

I'm not exactly sure who came up with the engineering design for cats, but I just noticed that Kitty's  multidirectional ears  are positioned precisely where a set of antlers or horns would be located, if she had any...

Kitty, the blog animal         October 6, 2004

Even though Kitty can't pronounce "k" or "b", she does her very best with the word "kibble".   But in her dictionary, the word "kibble" also can mean "corn-on-the-cob" or "canned-cat-food", so it has become necessary for her to play a little game of cherades every time she wants food.
Nuzzling up to the refrigerator  narrows it down, but that only gives me a 50-50 chance of serving what she had in mind.   Sometimes, when I guess wrong I sternly tell her "that's what we're having", and she usually goes along with the plan, but not without complaint.   If she is really miffed she will remind me of the legal document I signed which specifies that my primary job in life is to cater to her whims...

Kitty, the blog animal         October 5, 2004

Just as some humans have the ability to brighten up a room just by entering, this little cat has a similar ability to bring beauty to her surroundings in the out-of-doors...

Kitty, the blog animal         October 4, 2004

In a most natural sort of way, and from deep within, Kitty exudes  peace and tranquility.   And it may not be possible, but I think it would be a great project if we could successfully synthesize it, bottle it, and distribute it.   I think we would send the first free sample to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue...

Kitty, the blog animal         October 3, 2004

Crunch, gnaw, slurp, furp, gaw, snurp, slarp, gish, gnash, gulp...

Kitty, the blog animal         October 2, 2004

Our little pestbouncer  has been getting visits from the new-cat-on-the-block, and Kitty has been doing everything possible, just short of bloody murder, to make it feel unwelcome...   The visitor is exceedingly friendly, very cute, and obviously doesn't know the meaning of fear...   A friend within Kitty's own species would be great, but that isn't going to happen...

Kitty, the blog animal         October 1, 2004

Kitty seems content to stick close to home, but the only regret I have about being Kitty's dad is that she can't tag along like a dog...
And we could have so much fun and go so many neat places...
Together we could investigate new smells, soak up grand vistas, and carefully search for new and  amazing birds in the sky...

Kitty, the blog animal         September 30, 2004

It took Kitty all day, but now everything extraneous and/or irrelevant has been painted-over with a pleasing shade of  olive-green...

Kitty, the blog animal         September 29, 2004

Occasionally the stray cloud passes over, and just briefly, and with a bit of imagination, this little cat transforms effortlessly into a  cloud...

Kitty, the blog animal         September 28, 2004

There is no argument, and there will be no debate.   Clearly, and with 20/20 vision, Kitty is able to envision forces in the universe that remain a mystery to most of us...     poster child for next Sunday's church bulletin

Kitty, the blog animal         September 27, 2004

Kitty is a multi-faceted cat...   and among her many irons-in-the-fire is an artistic talent for designing really  cool and far-out jewelery...

Kitty, the blog animal         September 26, 2004

Kitty's world appears to be encapsulated by a large protective  bubble...

Kitty, the blog animal         September 25, 2004

It's just the way her head is constructed, but her big nose blocks her being able to see escaped stray  morsels of corn.   She has to sniff them out...

Kitty, the blog animal         September 24, 2004

And Kitty's other job is  keeper of the john...   She is compelled to keep track of all activity...   And with Kitty around, privacy is not an option...

Kitty, the blog animal         September 23, 2004

Kitty makes the job look easy, but it is no simple job to figure out where all the vines go to, and to keep them all sorted out and in proper working order.   Good job, Kitty...     keeper of the vines

Kitty, the blog animal         September 22, 2004

Recipe:    Gather and combine equal parts cat and flower.   Let steep.

Kitty, the blog animal         September 21, 2004

It is just a  local adventure,  but it is an adventure, none-the-less...
...it could be just behind the next blade of grass...
...and nothing is going to go un-noticed...
...and nobody is going to get away with anything...

Kitty, the blog animal         September 20, 2004

jeezzz...   Monday morning has arrived, but Kitty hasn't yet  un-twisted  from the weekend...

Kitty, the blog animal         September 19, 2004

Kitty's world  isn't very large, but it is a place of relative safety...
Not being aware of the outer world seems like a very fine destination...

Kitty, the blog animal         September 18, 2004

Apparently, when you have to lap-up all of your liquids, you really need a good set of  soup-strainers,  and Kitty is well equipped...

Kitty, the blog animal         September 17, 2004

To be honest, Kitty's real name is  Whiskers,  but we just call her Kitty.

Kitty, the blog animal         September 16, 2004

Up until now, Kitty's favorite toy had been a knotted-up shoelace.   But being the creative-type, she has discovered a new toy and has invented a new game of skill to go along with it...     balancing the moon

Kitty, the blog animal         September 15, 2004

...and Kitty would have a better chance of an aquittal in court if she presented herself as  an innocent creature,  rather than cute and fast moving raskallion that she really is...

Kitty, the blog animal         September 14, 2004

I really should find a way to explain to Kitty that  lying in wait,  in connection with a murder charge, carries additional penalties...

Kitty, the blog animal         September 13, 2004

I thought Kitty's mouse-catching days were over, but either there is an abundance of mice, or Kitty is remembering just how much fun it is to crunch skulls...   Or maybe she just needed a taste of blood and warm guts...   Her cute and peaceful  exterior  can be deceiving...

Kitty, the blog animal         September 12, 2004

Being flightless is a physical limitation that must just bug the heck out of Kitty.     Here she is,  birdwatching.

Kitty, the blog animal         September 11, 2004

Once again Kitty has been turned away by the registrar of the local junior college.   Next time, when they ask for "transcripts", Kitty will know they aren't asking for an  eight-by-ten glossy.

Kitty, the blog animal         September 10, 2004

Having achieved success as a director, it was only natural that Kitty would expand her horizons and become a  drama critic.

Kitty, the blog animal         September 9, 2004

The stage is set.   The curtain rises.   And on a typical afternoon we might find Kitty with a ticket and reserved seating at the  front row of life...

Kitty, the blog animal         September 8, 2004

Because Kitty's pupils are slit-shaped rather than round, gaining access to her soul by the time-honored tradition of  peering directly into her eyes is not an easy task; but it's good-clean-fun, and well worth the trip...

Kitty, the blog animal         September 7, 2004

Kitty is no slouch when it comes to good work ethics, but yesterday was Labor Day so she got the well deserved reward of a day off.
Naturally, she spent the day  getting as horizontal as possible.

Kitty, the blog animal         September 6, 2004

With a whole lot of encouragement and pointing, I occasionally succeed in getting Kitty to look at her image on the screen, but she always seems rather unimpressed and quiet.   Just the occasional  Pffbt...

Kitty, the blog animal         September 5, 2004

It all seems to come easily and naturally, but I will always be amazed at Kitty's extrordinary ability to invent a  colorful state of being...

Kitty, the blog animal         September 4, 2004

Kitty's garden is completely au naturel.
At the end of the season,  the last weed standing  wins a prize...

Kitty, the blog animal         September 3, 2004

Kitty knows a few good tricks...   Even while laying on her back, she can catch a wadded-up piece of paper.   And from a sitting position she is skillful at batting it right back to me.   Sometimes I catch it, sometimes I don't...       Ms Kitty, shortstop for the San Anselmo Scrappers

Kitty, the blog animal         September 2, 2004

I hurried home yesterday to tell Kitty that the corn they are farming out in Nicasio looks like it's ready for picking.   But Kitty already knew all about it...   She had picked up on  distant sounds  of it growing.

The Official Long-Range Cat Weather Forecast says to look-out, because it's going to be  furry and blurry  this winter...
